FocQus began as a consultancy deeply embedded in the Oil & Gas (O&G) sector. Working closely with industry leaders, we identified a critical challenge: the growing complexity of operations, stringent regulatory demands, and the overwhelming volume of data from modern metering equipment necessitated a fundamental shift in Measurement Management.

Recognizing that traditional methods were insufficient for effective decision-making, we foresaw the need for sophisticated information systems to transform raw data into timely, actionable insights. This vision drove our strategic evolution.

Today, FocQus is a technology company, built on our foundational expertise in hydrocarbon measurement, delivering robust solutions that empower clients with accurate data and operational cost optimization.

Our History

Integrating measurement expertise with proprietary tech for end-to-end hydrocarbon solutions

With over 16 years in Oil & Gas, FocQus built expertise in Hydrocarbon Measurement and Engineering, executing key projects across United States, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru (onshore/offshore). It evolved into measurement process digitalization, mastering software development, databases, and international technical standards.

FocQus Consulting in Brazil

In August 2008, FocQus Measurement Technologies was established to meet the market’s need for independent hydrocarbon measurement consulting services. After 15 years of international experience in the oil and natural gas sector, Jorge Rosado, CEO of FocQus, began operations in Brazil.

FocQus Consulting in Peru

Based on the demand for consulting services in the region, FocQus’s Peruvian operations were legally established in April 2010. Since then, consulting services have been provided by local personnel with technical coordination from staff in Brazil. As in Brazil, the demand for services has been met not only by clients operating oil and natural gas production fields, but also by government entities responsible for overseeing national production.

Information Systems Projects

In January 2012, the project to develop solutions for managing measurement systems based on information systems (information technology) began. A technical development team was formed, working in three different countries: Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. The multidisciplinary technical project group included systems, software, and electronics engineers; they were trained in measurement and led by measurement consultants.

2012

Metering Management System

In April 2013, the development of the first version of the MMS system was completed. This initially web-based version was updated to a client-server version at the end of the year. Functionality testing began using real data from our customers, with all tests proving successful.

2013

Flow Data Management

Information Systems division  to meet local regulation requirements. Flow Measurement System (FMS) implemented in Brazil.

2014

Compliance Management

Compliance Management System (CMS) added to integrate inspections and audits based on ISO 10012 standard.

2015

Solutions Integration

All systems integrated into a total management system, for metrological and measurement activities in compliance with standards.

2016

FocQus in NAM

Incorporates in North America to address the need for independent flow  measurement consulting services
